The Syntec C silicone is often used for making small and large molds. The condensation silicone has a high mechanical and chemical resistance and is therefore also the economical variant of the Eurosil Addition silicone.
Syntec C10 has a soft Shore A 10 and is a tin-curing condensation silicone. This Tin curing silicone has a mixing ratio of 100 A + 5% B (catalyst). The Condensation silicone is an economical silicone that is widely used for one-off or molds with a relatively short lifespan. The Syntec C-silicone is often used for making both small and large molds. The condensation silicone has a high mechanical and chemical resistance. The condensation silicone is a white silicone with a transparent oil-like hardener. The viscosity is 50,000 cP and has a 60 minute pot life. The curing time is 24 hours.
In contrast to the addition silicone, the condensation silicone has a limited shelf life because the catalyst leaves the silicone. This process starts from the curing process and continues for weeks after curing. This means there is a great chance of shrinkage over time. For durable molds see our High quality Eurosil addition silicone materials. Condensing silicones can also be used in the molding of materials that give inhibition / reaction upon addition silicones, such as certain (sulfur-containing) clays.
Condensation / tin curing silicone is available in Shore A 10, 20 and 30.
