FLB 1000, plastic bending machine

The FLB 1000 is a plastic bending machine (line bender) from Formech. This plastic bending machine is a plug-and-play machine that is easy to use. The FLB machines are an ideal tool for quickly bending plastic sheets up to 10 mm thick and up to 1000 mm wide (500 mm wide with the FLB 500). The FLB professionally built with robust quality materials.

The FLB series line bending machines work on a normal 240V power connection, so it is easy to integrate into existing processes. The machine is ideal for training applications where students are instructed to produce items in a variety of materials and thicknesses or as an extension to vacuum forming machines or other plastic processing systems.

The bending machines are robust enough for industrial applications, such as making displays, menu holders, price card holders and protection and cover protections for machines or other applications. The FLB series from Formech comes complete with a special cooling mold designed to maintain the desired angle of the heat-bent plastic during cooling.

The FLB 1000 bending machine can effortlessly bend materials with a thickness of 3 mm. For thicker materials, we recommend heating one side first, then flipping the material over to heat the other side as well. This ensures the heat is evenly absorbed throughout the material.

When forming thicker sheets, approximately 6 mm to 10 mm, it is advisable to slightly reduce the temperature to prevent the material from burning. Additionally, raising the material about 10 mm above the heating element can help the heat penetrate the sheet more effectively, rather than burning the surface. This can easily be done by placing two strips of steel, aluminum, or wood on either side of the heating element on top of the machine.
