Medicalprint soft coat

UV varnish for 3D-printed earmolds

Specially developed coating for the No-Break. We offer two specialized coatings for this Detax No-Break: Medicalprint Coat and Soft Coat.

The light-curing, single-component varnishes for DX No-Break earmolds are transparent and ensure strong adhesion for long-lasting results. The coatings are biocompatible, THF-MA-free, and MDR-certified (Medical Device Class IIa).

Medicalprint Soft Coat: Creates a non-slip surface and guarantees a secure fit of the earmold.

For the gloss finish, we offer Medicalprint Coat, which creates a high-gloss, easy-to-clean surface.
Both products are available in 300, 100, and 40 ml.

Other coatings should not be applied to DX Nobreak earmolds.

Processing:

  1. Wear protective gloves and protective glasses when using coat / soft coat. Processing should be performed under a suction system.
  2. Roughen components (e. g. with sandpaper)
  3. Clean components with isopropyl alcohol (max. 2 min.).
  4. Dry components with compressed air (the surface must be free of remaining alcohol).
  5. Varnishing of components: either apply lacquer with a brush or by immersing. Remove excess lacquer after immersion by shaking off (Attention: wear protective glasses / protective gloves).
  6. Curing of the lacquer using the following post-curing devices: a) Xenon flash device with nitrogen (e. g., Otoflash G171), exposure: 2 × 2000 flashes b) PCU LED N2 with nitrogen, exposure: 6:30 minutes at 33% power
  7. After curing, thoroughly clean the earmould, sound channel drills, ventings, etc. with a mixture of distilled water / isopropanol (mixing ratio 1:1) in order to remove potential residues.

Processing:

  • The necessary exposure time depends on the used exposure unit and the geometry of the components as well as their arrangement during the curing process.
  • It is important that the lacquer is not tacky after curing. Biocompatibility is only ensured if the lacquer is completely polymerised. Correct functioning of the light-curing unit must be ensured.
