polyurethane casting resins and rubbers can be divided into polyurethane rubbers, casting resins and casting foams for various applications. P.U. rubbers, foams and resins are used for making rubber or plastic parts, prototypes, rubber molds and especially rubbers and resins for forming and pouring concrete. The range is wide with a polyurethane cast rubber in soft rubbers with low Shore A values to extremely hard rubbers and plastic materials with high Shore A and Shore D products.

What is Polyurethane casting rubber or casting resin?

The Polyurethane rubber is a softer variety among the Thermosets which is formed from two components. This flexible casting rubber has a varying hardness from Shore A 20 to Shore A 95 and can be even harder in a number of cases. The casting resin resins are the hard thermosets that also consist of two components. These hard casting plastics are available in hardnesses varying from Shore D 45 to 90.
The PUR has the property of adhering to many materials when no release agent is used. An exception is Silicone material. We therefore recommend using a silicone mold for processing PU.

For example, your model can be made of stone, glass, metal, wood, wax, ceramic or plaster.
