Primer 207 – black, 250ml – for polyurethane rubber to metal.

The Primer 207 is a solvent-based adhesive primer for promoting the adhesion between polyurethane cast rubber on various metal surfaces. The primer can be used when the adhesion of cast p.u. is not sufficient, for example, in case of mechanical stress or necessary bonding on steel, stainless steel (stainless steel), aluminum, hot-dip galvanized steel and aluminum (anodised). The adhesive primer is also suitable for liquid polyurethane on polyurethane, plastics, flat glass, glass with ceramic coating and lacquered coatings.

Primer 207 is solvent based which forms a thin film. The primer ensures adhesion between the primer and the metals such as steel and stainless steel or aluminum. The polyurethane casting rubber ensures good adhesion to the primer.

Make sure that the surfaces are clean and free of grease and if possible the surface can be treated or blasted after. this ensures good adhesion with the primer.

  • A low viscous liquid for the pre-treatment of metal substrates.
  • Works as an adhesion promoter between polyurethane products and metal materials, such as steel, stainless steel, hot-dip galvanized steel, aluminum and anodized aluminum.
  • Specific gravity: approx. 1.0 g/cm³.
  • Also on plastics, glass and coatings
  • Viscosity: 30 mPa.s.
  • Drying time at 23°C/RH 50%: 30 min to 24 hours.

Always test beforehand with the usual substrates and under the local conditions to determine the adhesion and compatibility of the adhesive and the material.

Packaging: 250ml, 1,000ml
Processing time (min.): max 24 hours
Surface treatment: 50 ml per m2
Application time (hours): 0.5 – 24 hours
Colour :black
Type of product: primer for promoting adhesion of polyurethane to metals, such as steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum and anodized aluminum glass, ceramics and plastics.

The primer 207 is a good alternative to the Sika primer 204.

Processing:

The surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease, oil, dust, other contaminants or release agents. Adhesion can be improved with a pre-treatment such as sanding, cleaning, blasting and activating or combinations of these before applying the primer.

Shake the can very thoroughly. After you hear the mixing ball, shake for another minute and then apply a thin but opaque coating of Sika® Primer-207 N using a brush, felt or foam applicator. The ideal application and surface temperature is between 5°C and 40°C. Apply the primer in one coat. Make sure that this layer is opaque in one go. The consumption and processing method depend on the nature of the substrate and the production process. Close the package carefully immediately after use.
