The SynTec Poly Foam R250 is a hard foam with a free expansion density of approximately 250 kgm-3. This two-component polyurethane hard foam stiffens to a hard foam with a hardness of approximately Shore A 80-85.
The very hard foam is very fluid with a low viscosity and can be used for various applications such as filling hollow castings for example molds, dies, props and other applications. This R250 is processed with a mixing ratio of 100A:85B by weight or 100A:74.6 by volume.
Calculation of required quantity:
Quantity of PU Foam = desired density (kgm-3) x filling volume (m3).
The R250 has a free density of 250 kgm-3 but to get a good result you have to calculate with a desired density of 280 kg m3.
The processing of R250 comp. A and Comp. B is at room temperature 18 – 25°C and preferably not lower than 18°C to maintain good properties. Preferably weigh the desired quantity neatly with a scale. The mold must be dry and clean. After weighing correctly, mix Comp. A and B well until a homogeneous mixture and therefore streak-free. Poor mixing results in sticky and poor quality foam. Mixing and pouring must be completed before the cream time of 35-45 seconds starts.

Rise Time: 2-3 min.
Exotherm: 140 °C
Tack-free time: 4-5 minutes
Demould time 15 mm: 45 + minutes
Demould time 50 mm: 20 + minutes
Hardness: 80-85 Shore A
Free Density: 240-280 kgm-3.
Free Density core: 250 kgm-3

5kg A + 4.25kg B – on request
25kg A + 21.25kg B – on request
The foam can be cut off after 2 hours, for example from the (vent) holes. Full curing is only after 72 hours.
