The product combines UV protection with the sealing of porous surfaces and helps protect plastic components against external influences.

By applying dichtol AM UV Protection, a protective layer is created that reduces the impact of UV radiation on the plastic surface. As a result, the coating helps prevent discoloration, yellowing and premature ageing of plastic materials. This makes the product particularly suitable for parts and products that are regularly or continuously exposed to sunlight or other sources of UV radiation.

In addition to UV protection, dichtol AM UV Protection can be used to seal fine to medium-sized pores. On porous plastic parts, the material penetrates the surface structure and helps make the component water- and gas-tight. At the same time, the surface is protected against influences such as moisture, dirt, oil and chemicals.

UV Protection for Plastic

Over time, plastics can discolor, yellow or lose their original appearance as a result of exposure to UV radiation. Additional surface protection can therefore be particularly beneficial for outdoor components, technical housings, visible parts and plastic products that are exposed to light for extended periods.

dichtol AM UV Protection provides a transparent protective finish that helps preserve both the plastic material and any underlying colors.

Sealing and Protection in a Single Treatment

In addition to its UV-protective properties, dichtol AM UV Protection has been developed for sealing porous components. As a result, the product combines several functions in a single treatment:

UV protection: helps reduce discoloration, yellowing and ageing caused by UV radiation.

Sealing: helps seal fine to medium-sized pores and make components water- and gas-tight.

Surface protection: protects against moisture, dirt, oil and various chemical influences.

Appearance preservation: helps maintain the colors and original appearance of plastic parts for longer.

Suitable for technical applications: can be used on both conventionally manufactured and additively manufactured plastic components.

Application Areas

dichtol AM UV Protection can be used for a wide range of plastic applications, including:

plastic housings and covers

technical plastic components

visible plastic parts

components for outdoor applications

plastic parts that are regularly exposed to sunlight

prototypes and end-use products

porous plastic components

3D-printed plastic parts

This makes dichtol AM UV Protection suitable not only as a finishing treatment for additive manufacturing, but also as a UV-protective coating for plastic components in a wide range of industrial and technical applications.

Suitable for 3D-Printed Parts

Within additive manufacturing, dichtol AM UV Protection can be applied to components produced using technologies including:

Material Extrusion (FDM/FFF)

Sheet Lamination (LLM/LOM)

For porous 3D-printed parts, the coating helps seal the open surface structure while simultaneously providing additional protection against UV radiation and environmental influences.

dichtol AM UV Protection is therefore a versatile solution for sealing, protecting and increasing the durability of plastic components, both for conventionally manufactured plastic products and additively manufactured parts.

dichtol AM UV Protection – UV-Protective Coating for Plastic Parts dichtol AM UV Protection #2546 is a solvent-based protective coating and sealer for plastic parts.
