Digital production of silicone parts using 3D-printed molds
More and more companies are switching to digital production techniques to produce custom work faster, more accurately, and more cost-effectively. Asiga SilCAST has been specifically developed for manufacturing high-quality 3D-printed molds used for casting silicone parts. This innovative workflow combines the design freedom of additive manufacturing with the proven material properties of medical and industrial silicones.
Instead of directly printing a silicone part, SilCAST produces an accurate, biodegradable mold. After filling with liquid silicone and complete curing, the printed mold can be easily removed by hand. The result is a perfectly formed silicone part with excellent dimensional accuracy, fine detail rendering, and high-quality surface finish.
This digital production method is particularly suitable for prototypes, custom products, and small production runs where flexibility and reproducibility are essential.
Applications of Asiga SilCAST
SilCAST is used worldwide in various markets where flexible silicone parts are required.
The technology is ideally suited for producing precise molds for, among others:
Medical applications
Within the medical sector, SilCAST offers an efficient solution for patient-specific silicone components, including:
Dental applications
The application of digital silicone production is also growing within dentistry. SilCAST is used, among other things, for the production of molds for:
Industrial applications
In addition to the medical sector, SilCAST is also of interest for engineering, product development, and industrial production, such as:
