Information on required training
Mandatory information according to Regulation (EU) 2020/1149 regarding diisocyanates:
From 24 August 2023, adequate training is required for industrial or professional use. The training can be taken through the organization at the following link. Please note that there may be costs associated with this training. More information can be found at feica.eu/Puinfo and https://safeusediisocyanates.eu/
When do I need to follow a training?
According to the new REACH restriction, employees who handle diisocyanates are required to undergo training, depning on the type of use. This means that whenever products containing diisocyanates are, for example, stored, package, transported, traded, or used, completing the required training is mandatory.
Training levels are defined in three stages:
- Basisopleiding (Level I);
- Intermediate Training (Level II);
- Geavanceerde Training (Level III)
We supply a number of polyurethane (PU) products for which training may be required. From 24 August 2023, this training is mandatory for all professional and industrial users of products with a total monomeric diisocyanate concentration of >0.1%. For our products containing diisocyanates, we indicate that these trainings are required.
This applies, among others, to our polyurethane products from the PT Flex, Poly 74, and Poly 75 series.
Where can I find this training?
We refer our customers to the website www.safeusediisocyanates.eu for completing the required training.
FEICA, in cooperation with the European Diisoyanate & Polyol Producers Association (ISOPA), the European Aliphatic Isocyanates Producers Association (ALIPA), and various other industries in the polyurethane (PU)-related sector, has launched a comprehensive training program.
This training aims to increase knowledge and ensure the safe use of diisocyanates for manufacturers and professional users across Europe. In this way, FEICA also ensures that all end users of PU materials, such as PU-containing adhesives, sealants, rubbers, plastics, foams, paints, and other polyurethane products, can continue to handle diisocyanates safely throughout Europe.
These trainings are web-based and can be booked online as self-study courses for a fee. The safeusediisocyanates platform can also provide in-hosue and external trainer on request, and can train trainers to become certified instructors.
Several training programs have been developed to best suit your specific situation. You can review the different training options via the link below:
